Customs or import duties/taxes may be charged by the customs office of your country upon the import of the package, depending on the policies of each country. These taxes are to be covered by the recipient, are usually no more than the goods tax for products available in your country and are typically charged only if the package value is above a certain amount (as defined by your tax authority).
Do note that there may be administrative charges incurred depending on how your local courier and customs office operate. Please contact your local customs office, tax authority or local courier (eg, the local division of UPS or EMS) to find out more.
There are usually no taxes incurred for packages sent via "Standard Airmail" and "USPS International First-class" as these packages are routed via the standard postal service (eg, like letters).
